    August 13, 2010 · General · Email This PostShare{lang: 'en-GB'}

Torrent Search is a torrent searching application for the Gnome desktop environment. It looks for torrent files on different websites, and allows the user to filter the results, making it very easy to find the torrent you want.
The websites are integrated using plugins, allowing to add new websites or improve the existing plugins very quickly.

Currently look into the following websites

    www.btscene.com/

    www.kickasstorrents.com/

    rarbg.com/

    www.sumotorrent.com/

    thepiratebay.org/

    www.torrentbit.net/

    www.torrenthound.com/

    www.torrentzap.com/

    www.yourbittorrent.com/

    Install Torrent Search in Ubuntu

    Download .deb package from here

Install .deb package by double clicking on it or by using the following command from your terminal (you need to make sure you are in correct location where your .deb file located)

    sudo dpkg -i torrent-search_0.8.0_all.deb

Do the results of the search in some way, i.e. does the first listed search return, roughly, equal the most seeders, or some other result, or are the reults “random”? Do you know?

Doesn’t appear to display the results. Is there something I’m missing? Do I have to turn off emerald and compiz?

@promet : by default, the results are in the order in which they are retrieved from the server; you can change the order by clicking on the header of the columns

@ethnopunk : shouldn’t have anything to do with emerald nor compiz. Could you post a bug report onhttp://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=add&group_id=337561&atid=1414043, with if possible a console output and your system configuration ?

PS: I’m the developer of this app
