报告显示，在这些15到24岁的年轻人中，27%的男性和29%的女性表示，他们从未有过任何形式的性接触经历。而在2002年，承认自己是处男和处女的人数在两性中所占比例都只有22%。
上述报告是研究人员依据2006-2008年采访获得的信息制作而成。当时的采访乃是针对于全国13945名青年男女。
美国疾病预防控制中心预测，每年有1900万起性传播疾病发生，而其中一半病患的年龄正是位于15到24岁之间。

The report found 27 percent of males and 29 percent of females aged15-24 say they have never had sexual contact with another person.That's compared to 22 percent of young men and women who said they hadnever had sexual contact with another person in 2002.
Researchers used data from 2006 to 2008 collected through in-personinterviews in a national sample of 13,495 males and females.
The CDC estimates that about 19 million new cases of sexuallytransmitted infections occur each year - half among teens and youngadults aged 15-24.
