         a red-letter day 是英语中较为常用的习语，表示喜庆的日子，可

译成“大喜日子”、“纪念日”、“ 一个值得纪念的日子”等。先看

Meaning:  A red-letter day is a day that is very important for some reason.

For example:

1）The day Tatiana graduated from university was a red-letter day for her whole family. She was

       the first person in the family's history to get a university degree.
