日前某天下午，陈佩斯在某剧院出席活动，当天他衣着朴素，手里还拿着自用的玻璃水杯，毫无大腕架子，活动结束陈佩斯乘坐一辆陈旧的商务汽车离去，在车上他一会拨打电话，一会闭目养神。汽车来到了北苑路附近的一个小区，过了好一会记者看到一位衣着讲究的中年妇女坐上了陈佩斯的汽车，记者在追赶中认出那位中年女士正是陈佩斯的妻子王燕玲，当天王燕玲面容显得有点疲惫，在车上一直以手托头，沉默不语。

王燕玲原是医院的一名护士，后来“下海”辅佐陈佩斯的事业，多年来默默奉献，陈佩斯接受采访时曾表示，妻子是人生中最令自己感谢的人。半个小时后陈佩斯和妻子乘车来到了北五环附近的一处普通的居民小区，两人下车默契地走进了一幢居民楼，记者看到这处居民小区不仅地点偏远，而且设施一般，房子也显得有些陈旧，想不到走红多年的陈佩斯如今还住在这么陈旧的公寓里，而离此不远处的别墅区住着刘晓庆(微博)、李雪健、尤勇等影视红人，对此不禁令人有点感叹。
