A good teacher should be patient, friendly and strict. Remember not to encourage the students by pushing or forcing them. Being too friendly may cause students to become lazy and stop working hard. On the other hand, being too strict may frighten the students. So a teacher should avoid going extremes in treating his students. With the development of economics as well as the improving life standard, more and more people possess private cars.
As each coin has two sides, there are also disadvantages in such a trend. First of all, the air and noise pollution is undoubtedly going from bad to worse. The poisonous gas the private cars send out is not only of great harm to the environment around us, but to our human bodies as well, especially to the respiratory systems. Private cars, of their owners most are new drivers, meanwhile, are consequently easy to result in traffic jams or even accidents. I have a happy family. Though there is only a little furniture in my home and everything in the rooms seems rather disorderly, I love my home very much.

The year of 2008 is getting closer and closer to us. We need to take actions from now on to prepare for the game. What we need to do most is to work on our disadvantages and shortcomings. As a student of Senior high, I can do my own part. Although I can’t transform our city into more a beautiful place on my own, I can help Beijing in small ways and encourage our classmates and people around me to follow my lead.
Let me take the environment for example, the atmosphere around Beijing is quite disappointing, factories and cars keep giving off exhausts into the air, we can hardly see the blue sky with our naked eyes, because the sky is covered with a thick layer of harmful substances. The sky is gray instead of blue. To our delight, the government has passed some laws of protecting the air, and we can do something useful, too. Of course doing that only by one person is far from enough, but we can let more people do that together. In that case the result may be more than we bargained for.
Another thing we need to work on is our English skills. Teachers and parents often put great emphasis on our English skills especially listening and speaking. I want to be a volunteer in 2008, to be an interpreter. For now, I must do something helpful to improve my spoken English. Rome isn’t build in a day, so is English. It can’t be improved in a day or two. It takes time and energy. There are no shortcuts to improve your spoken English; the most productive way is to grab all opportunities around you to open your mouth. For instance, taking part in all kinds of English contests is a good way, you can meet some excellent contestants, and you can share the experience of learning and some good method of learning. I will keep participating in all English activities to polish up my English. I’m sure by the year of 2008, I will be able to master English well just as my mother tongue.
All in all, I’m sure that Beijing Olympic Games will be one of the most successful Games in history. I believe our long-cherished dream will be fulfilled in a perfect way!

The cactuses have long roots and they take their roots deep into the earth so that they can get the water from deeper,soil. Their flowers are always small and white. Review (复习)
As we all know, there are three stages in study--preview, study in class and review, among which review is the most important. From my experience,I'd like to talk about the importance and steps of review. Firstly, make a review plan with certain contents of subjects at a certain time. Second]y, carry on the review plan regularly. Thirdly, examine what has been reviewed and make supplement in time. One thing to remember is to keep notes all the time. I follow my review plan strictly and have made progress in my study. It turns out to be good enough. Of course, there is more than one way to review. So long as we review regularly we can find more ways to improve our studies.

我们都知道，学习有三个环节：预习、课堂学习和复习，三者中复习是最重要的。我愿以我的经验谈一下复习的重要性和步骤方法。首先，制定复习计划，确定在某段时间里复习课程的具体内容。其次，有规律地执行复习计划。第三，检测所复习的内容，及时弥补。有一件事必须记住，就是要时时记笔记。我严格遵循计划，在学习上取得了进步，证明复习是有帮助的。当然，不是只有一种复习办法。只要我们有规律地复习，我们可以找到更多改善学习的方法。
How to Use the Dictionary（怎样使用词典）?
When you are reading something in English, you may often come across a new word. What's the best way to know it?
You may look it up in an English-Chinese Dictionary. It will tell you a lot about the word, the pronunciation, the part of speech, the Chinese meaning and also how to use this word. But how can you find it in the dictionai'y both quickly and correctly7 First, all the English words are arranged in the'alphabetical order. In the dictionary you can first see the words beginning with the letter A, then B, C, D, E,... That means, if there are two,words "desert" and "pull", "desert" will be certainly before "pull". Then if there are two words both beginning with the same letter, you may lo0k at the second letter. Then the third, the fourth, ... For example,"pardon" is before "plough", "judge" before "just",etc.

Ways of Preventing Obesity(减肥的方法)
A healthy diet and regular exercise may help to prevent obesity among children.Take Li Ming for example.
Li Ming used to be a heahhv boy, but over a year ago, he got into the habit of eating a lot of junk food and snacks. Besides, he spent a lot of time lying on the sofa, watching TV, and did little exercise. As a result, he put on so much weight that he found it difficult to chimb stairs.

How to Spend Sundays（如何度过星期天）
Though Sunday is set aside as a day for rest, we ought to devise some .good ways of spending it.
Firstly, we should review what we have learned during the past week. "One will get something new in looking over one's old studies" Is a very wise saying. If we do not fully understand what we have been taught in the week, how can we expect to understand next week's lessons?
Secondly, to increase our knowledge, we should read on Sundays, those books,newspaper and magazines that are not in our regular curriculum. That will do us good.
The two ways of spending Sundays will surely do anyone good if he carries them out faithfully and persistently.
虽然星期天是供大家休闲娱乐的一天，但我们还是可以想出很多好办法来度过这一天。
首先，我们可以复习上周所学的内容，“温故而知新”这是非常明智的谚语。如果我们连本周所学的知识都不能完全消化，那又怎能掌搔好下一周的知识呢?
其次，为了提高我们的知识水平，我们可在星期天阅读课外书籍、报纸、杂志，虽然不是我们的正规功课，但是对我们很有用。
如果有恒心坚持的话，以上两种度过星期天的方式毫无疑问是很有益的。
