核心提示：12月7日上午，中央军委举行杨立三追悼大会，国务院总理周恩来主祭，彭德怀、贺龙、陈毅、聂荣臻、叶剑英等陪祭。当时，国内还实行土葬，遂于11时起灵，文官队第一个执绋的是周恩来，武官队第一个执绋的是彭德怀。当时，周恩来坚持为他抬棺，并伤感地说：“我们共产党人是无神论者，但不是无情论者，是杨立三把我从鬼门关抬出来的，我现在不送他一程，死人也会说话的……”

彭德怀一生横刀立马，名垂千古；杨立三一生尽瘁后勤，不显山水！在中国革命史上，这两个湖南人都为革命作出了自己应有的贡献，并谱写了一曲动人的战友之歌。

毛泽东向彭德怀介绍杨立三：“他是从省城（长沙）上山的，是我们的‘粮草官’！”

彭德怀，原名彭得华，1898年10月24日出生于湖南省湘潭县彭家围子。早年因家贫辍学务农，曾下煤窑做矿工。1916年3月，彭德怀投身湘军第二师第三旅第六团当兵，历任班长、排长、连长，参加过驱逐北洋军阀、湖南督军张敬尧的战斗。1922年8月，彭德怀考入湖南陆军军官讲武堂，毕业后回到第六团历任连长、代理营长、营长，率部参加北伐战争。

1928年1月，彭德怀升任国民革命军独立第五师第一团团长，同年4月加入中国共产党。7月22日，他与滕代远、黄公略等领导平江起义，组建红五军并任军长。12月上旬，红五军主力转战到宁冈，与朱德、毛泽东领导的红四军胜利会师，彭德怀见到了杨立三。

杨立三，字咏南，1900年11月出生于湖南省长沙市郊一个佃农家庭。少年时期，通过长期的半耕半读，他从自修中获得了相当程度的文化知识，曾任过小学教员。为了寻找光明，杨立三19岁时就投身湘军，曾在湖南军阀张辉瓒部当文书、司务长，参加过孙中山领导的讨伐军阀陈炯明的战争。司务长一职，是杨立三从事军队后勤工作的起点。1925年底，因看不惯旧军队中的黑暗，他愤然离开湘军回家务农，并重新思考自己和劳苦大众的出路。

1926年夏，国共合作的北伐战争声势席卷全国。杨立三从中看到了穷人的希望，便在家乡积极组织农民协会，担任过国民党长沙县第五区监察委员、长沙县第十四区农民协会委员长。在当地农民运动讲习所学习期间，他有幸聆听了毛泽东宣讲革命真理，逐步接受了共产主义思想：“只有共产党，才能救中国！只有共产党，才能拯救处于水深火热中的劳苦大众！”1927年1月，他加入了中国共产党。7月初，他奉命带领一批农运积极分子到武昌投军，在国民革命军第二方面军总指挥部警卫团担任排长。

1927年7月15日，武汉汪精卫政府叛变，国共合作的大革命彻底失败，共产党人决定发动土地革命，武装反抗国民党反动派。9月9日，杨立三随警卫团参加了毛泽东亲自领导的秋收起义，担任“工农革命军第一军第一师”（不久改称“中国工农红军第一师”）副官兼经理处处长，负责起义军后勤事宜。起义发动前夕，根据中共前敌委员会书记毛泽东的指示，他和师部参谋何长工在江西设计并制作了“工农革命军第一军第一师”军旗和臂章，是为人民军队第一面战旗。

1927年9月，在三湾改编会议上，毛泽东大声宣布：“杨立三同志担任第一团副官长！‘兵马未动，粮草先行’。立三同志，我们吃饭靠你啰！”在毛泽东的亲自领导下，杨立三参与了新型人民军队后勤的创建工作，内容包括废除薪饷制、实行官兵待遇平等和经济民主制度、打土豪筹款子、建立根据地财政工作、开展红军后勤建设等方方面面的工作。

在欢迎彭德怀的会师大会上，毛泽东把杨立三介绍给彭德怀：“这位是杨立三同志。他是从省城（长沙）上山的，是我们的‘粮草官’！”

面对在平江掀起革命狂澜的彭德怀，杨立三非常仰慕，一个劲地说：“久仰大名！久仰大名！”

还没有等双方进一步熟悉，战争形势就迫使他们各自为战：面对敌人大举“进剿”，彭德怀临危受命留守井冈山，担负钳制湘赣敌军的艰巨任务，杨立三则随朱德、毛泽东出击赣南。
