Hi, I am Sophia and I am 26. My friend Anya and myself decided to escape the Russian winter and wait for the spring in Spain. We had taken our kids Masha who is 5 and Vasya who is 3 with us.

It is easy to wake up early while in Spain as it is not dark at all. And it is 11 a.m. in Moscow which means it is high time to get up.

Our apartment has a wide corridor that is used by me for doing morning exercises.

Our kids are having breakfast.

Today we are planning to go to the mountain with our friends. They are Reynar and Vadik from Latvia who have been working in Spain for several years already.

This is the point of destination. If they had told me before how high it was I would have never come any closer.

It all started with a peaceful walk along a wide road that went high in the mountain and examination of remnants of an old fortress. The Romans laid bricks in a nice and careful way. During the Middle Ages they were not that careful any longer. And they call it development of a civilization.

We reached the tunnel.

And suddenly saw a mountain wall we had to climb. I would never dare to climb it alone and especially with 2 kids. But our instructors told us to stay calm.

We have reached the very top.

I couldn’t look straight at the camera due to the flaming sun.

The top of the mountain is inhabited by 4 cats who are fed by tourists.

I should add that it is me who is scared of height. We chose a safe route and hired two instructors for our kids. There was a crowd of tourists with even smaller kids.

We are at home. Now we’ll meet local Russians. Our friend Aleksey will take us there.

We are meeting at a nice Bulgarian cafe.

Some of them have been staying in Spain for long, others have just moved in. They told us many useful things about local traditions, prices for houses, foods, markets and cultural events.

The wine is so tasty!

But unfortunately it’s time to go.

Our kids are going to sleep.

And so am I.
