我的娇娃，我们就要到城里住呢！

“子珍生了吗？都平安吧？”康克清妈妈、邓颖超妈妈她们人还未进窑洞就急切地询问起来。

“生了，生了，像母鸡下蛋一样，生了个大鸡蛋。”父亲形象的回答里是由衷的喜悦，他说的是我初出娘胎蜷缩成团的样子吧。算起来，我是父母亲的第五个孩子了，前面的两个哥哥、两个姐姐都在战争环境中夭折或送人了。

邓妈妈抱起细细嫩嫩的我怜爱她左右看着，她痛惜地说：“真是个小娇娃，一个小娇娇。”

还没来得及给女儿起名字的父亲听了顿有感悟，她一锤定音地说：“对，就叫娇娇！”母亲也觉得这名字非常适合女孩子。

于是，我有了一个平平常常、清清亮亮的名字。

那年，我的父亲43岁，母亲28岁。

相濡以沫，夫妻十年

母亲生于1909年秋天，祖上是江西永新县的乡间望族。她从小就喜欢听民族正义感很强的故事，还在学堂念书的时候就参加进步活动，曾参加永新暴动，曾为营救落入敌手的同志，深夜以长布捆身吊下城墙，逃出城外报信。在遇到父亲以前，16岁的母亲已经加入了中国共产党，是人们称颂的“双枪女将”。

母亲性格乐观，虽舞刀弄枪，却俊秀端庄。她的肤质像胭脂玫瑰般的白里透红，眼睛似月亮般的澄澈如水，两道长眉明明朗朗地透着英气，青春洋溢。有“纤笔一枝谁与似”之誉的女作家丁玲晚年言及在延安见到母亲的第一印象，还情不自禁地说：“很美！很美！毫不矫揉造作，简直想不到！”可见母亲当年“永新一枝花”的称谓，并非夸张。父亲初次见到她时，根本想不到这就是大名贯耳的贺子珍，还以为是哪位同志的孩子呢！

父母亲相识于井冈山，他们一同参加了井冈山红色根据地的创建，一同到农村调查，母亲协助父亲完成革命史上重要的《井冈山调查》等著作，一同经历了五次反“围剿”战斗，一同走过艰苦卓绝的二万五千里长征……从星星之火到燎原之势，经历了九死一生超绝人寰的磨难。

在第三次反“围剿”一次与敌人的遭遇战中，有颗炸弹在母亲和她的战友身旁爆炸，两人顿时昏死过去。苏醒后，她们挣扎着连夜赶回部队。黎明时分，此前接以牺牲战报的父亲猛然见到母亲，欣喜之至，惊问：

“你们是人回来嘞，还是鬼回来嘞？”言毕乐呵呵大笑。

母亲也笑说：“我们呀，不仅人回来了，文件箱也回来了。”

父亲说：“要是敌人认出你是我的老婆，会拿你的人头去领赏呢！”

“我的头长得牢张可不是那么容易掉的呀！”母亲挺自信的。

如动脱兔，静如处子。战斗、工作以外，母亲还照顾着父亲的方方面面，除了抄手稿、理文件、缝缝补补，还想方设法为消瘦的父亲改善生活，摸田螺，抓田鸡，找辣椒，不厌其烦。有一段时间，父亲患便秘，母亲还向老郎中请教，借来通气筒打肥皂水帮父亲通便。同样的，父亲也很珍惜母亲。
