Nowadays required class attendance is very common at colleges and universities. Most people take it for granted that students should attend all the classes required by school. As for me, I'm in favor of the latter opinion. The following reasons can account for my preference. First, the rigid attendance policy does not benefit students' studies. For example, a student may have to give up a lecture which he finds useful to his studies simply because he dare not run the rest of being penalized for his absence in his course. Second,the lectures of some teachers are not always constructive. A student should be allowed to tell for himself whether an inclass experience is worthwhile. Finally and most importantly, there is no proving and corelation between class attendance and academic performance. A student may never be absent in a course, but who knows whether or not he is just sitting there daydreaming all the time.
In conclusion, class attendance may secure one hundred percent attendance for a course.But it is not really beneficial to us. As college students we should learn to make the right decisions for ourselves about whether to attend a class. Machine Translation and Human Translation
In recent years, all kinds of electronic dictionaries and translation software have been developed. With the development of technology,these electronic dictionaries and software can help us translate not only words and phrases, but even sentences and paragraphs. So some people come to the conclusion that machine translation will replace traditional human translation. However,I couldn't agree with this argument.
Admittedly,translation machines and software bring much convenience for our study and work. With them,we needn't bother to live through the heavy dictionaries. A quarrel in the dormitory
Weeks ago I witnessed the quarrel between my two roommates. It shocked me the two good friends fired out just for a very trifling matter. It was in the morning at weekend when I was washing my face in the bathroom. Suddenly I heard Ann and Sue shouting at each other. I hurried to come out to see what happened. It turned out that the noise of Sue’s closing the door waked Ann, whose bed is just beside the door. Ann thought Sue deliberately closed the door heavily.
