Book 6 Unit 4 Part B Read and write  说课稿

                                           By Joanna

Good morning! Ladies and gentlemen:

The lesson I am going to talk about is Book 6 Unit 4 Part B Read and write from PEP. I think there’re two key points in this lesson. First one is Ss should master the Four-Skill sentences: Mom is cooking dinner in the kitchen. Grandpa is writing a letter. Brother is doing homework. He’s writing an e-mail in the study. ” Second one is how to make a phone or answer a phone in English. The difficult point is how to understand and use the sentences “How’s everybody doing? Just fine.”.

To solve these key points and the difficult point, I will mainly create some real situations to present the new dialogue and guide the students to  practice language. I will encourage my students to read, to say, to listen by pair work and group work. Meanwhile, I will make full use of the modern equipment and encouraging remarks.

Now I will focus on my main teaching arrangements. It includes 5 steps: step 1, free talk , step2 guessing game, step 3 learn the dialogue, step4 make a phone in group, step5 act a new dialogue. Now I will explain it in details.

Step 1, free talk

In this step I will ask students some questions Such as : What day is it today ?What do you have today?   How are you? How are you doing? Guide the students to answer: Just fine. Then lead in “How’s everybody doing? Just fine. ”  and I will present ““How’s everybody doing? Just fine. ” on the blackboard .Thus they will understand these sentences. They will have a general idea about the difficult point.

Step2 guessing game,     PPT will show some pictures about someone are doing something. At first it will show a part of picture , let the students to guess: What is that man/woman/Sarah doing? Is he/she dancing? Etc. The guessing game here is to enliven the atmosphere of the study and lead into step 3.

At the end of the game, I will introduce the test .Just like this: What is Mike doing? He’s answering the phone. What is he talking? Let’s watch the VCD. Then guide the students to watch the VCD about the new dialogue.
Step 3 learn the dialogue, After watching, students will be asked to fill in the blanks in the books . After that, I will get them to check the answer by making the conversation like: What is Grandpa doing? Grandpa is writing a letter. I also present the Four-skill sentences on the blackboard. To do so, on the one hand, students can check the answers, on the other hand, they will pay more attention to the key point.

After the checking, I will guide the students to listen to the tape and repeat the dialogue in order to train students’ reading ability.

Step4 make a phone in group

In this step I teach Ss how to make a phone step by step in English. Before making a phone ,I will give every student a card that has some informations on it. The informations maybe like this: My father is reading a newspaper. My mother is cooking dinner, ect.

First I will give an example with a studentHello, is that Zhang Ling? Yes, this is Zhang Ling. How’s everybody doing ? Just fine. Making a phone here gives the students a good chance to communicate with others, it requires the students enable to use the phone languages. It is to check the students if they can use these words and structures freely and correctly.

Step5 act a new dialogue.

In this step, I will present a funny dialogue about Mickey and Minny by PPT. Mickey is calling Minny. They’re talk about their family members what they’re doing. After watching the cartoon, I will get to students to listen and imitate the cartoon, then ask them to act out the cartoon. We all know the students are so young that they love the cartoon very much. So if I put today’s key language and difficult language in the cartoon and let them to play. This is the right way that is called “Learning by doing”.

So, just as you’ve heard, I will use five steps to solve the key points and the difficult point. Thanks for your listening.
