　　美国退役海军上将Hyman George Rickover 前不久说过:十艘航母也比不上一条高铁对美国的威胁大。    首先你要知道，美国为什么一定要废掉中国高铁？ 　　中国高铁从根本上动摇以美国为主导的海洋霸权地位并且直接损害了飞机制造巨头波音公司的利益。 　　据波音公司估算，未来中国20年内将需要购进3700多架飞机合计达4000亿美元，中国高铁的出现基本上让波音公司4000亿美元订单泡汤，高铁如果接通全世界，波音必然破产！    高铁不烧石油，高铁不走海路，美国以后拿什么来控制中国？美国的十几艘航母和大量驻波斯湾美军基地岂不成了摆设？还威胁谁去？还拿什么来耀武扬威？ 　　为了肢解中国未来高铁发展所形成的陆权世界主导地位，美国会不惜一切代价比如利用蠕虫搞破坏甚至收买基地组织成员搞破坏! 美国的最低目标是要它局限于中国国内，在世界上形成中国高铁不安全甚至是臭名昭着的形象，造成其它国家敬而远之!另外，在网上大量制造舆论，造谣诋毁中国高铁，形成人人喊打的局面。 　　他们的用意只要是中国人都知道…中国人要警惕啊！！！它们的逻辑是，“你不让我得到，我就把它毁掉”。     以上是从国际大战略视角看高铁，再从国情看，根据中国人口众多，人均可耕地面积稀缺的特点，现有铁路客运远远供不应求，而即便增铺普通铁轨，也无助于提高客运效率，随着经济的突飞勐进，客运需求依旧得不到满足。如果听任私人轿车泛滥，得筑多少公路，修多少停车场啊？如果大力发展空运，一架飞机能够承载的旅客毕竟有限，如果达到美国这样的人口/航班比率，那得扩建多少机场，占掉多少业已稀缺的耕地面积和居民地产，并消耗多少能源啊？！如果一条高铁能抵三条普铁的客运量，能省下多少土地资源？为遏止城市的高速扩展，为了舒缓城市间交通的拥挤，为了今后尽量少修公路、铁路和机场，一句话，为了今后少占稀有的农村耕地和居民地产，少耗日渐稀缺的能源，大修城市间高铁和市内公交系统无疑是件功在当代利在千秋的伟大事业。有的人现在看不到这一点，随着时间的推移，真相只会越来越清晰明了。    中国人民，在挫折面前决不气馁，会再次给中国高铁以鼓励、加油！ 附录美国网民是怎样看中国的高铁的

　　I have to admit that I love the station architecture. Bright and open with the trains right out on center stage, not shoved into a dark basement like they are at Union Station here in Chicago. The Chinese measure their success by the things they build, and they are justly proud of their feats of engineering. Where we turn out ethnic studies graduates they turn out electrical engineers. 
　　I worry most about adversaries that are builders. The fanatics burn out, you can outlast them like we did with the Russians. The thieves destroy themselves. But the builders grow stronger with every day that goes by.

We celebrated the skyscrapers of New York and Chicago, the Hoover dam, and the Saturn V moon rocket. Today we celebrate Tiger Woods and Lady GaGa. 　　Faster and cheaper as well, since these trains run on electricity(which can be generated locally) rather than imported petroleum based jet fuel.

　　I’’m not sure I would agree with the "ineffective" part - nefarious to be sure, but not ineffective. 
　　Unlike the Soviets Union, who didn’’t engage in the kind of super-Neo-Capitali** that China does, I don’’t believe that China will collapse under the weight of itself. China has somehow managed to maintain a firm grip on its citizens, while also using the unquestionable benefits of its manufacturing and trade policies with the west. We are, for the first time in history, supplying the capital requirements of our enemy through the mechani** of (somewhat) free markets. It’’s a very strange dynamic, and one that - so far - China has been very adept at exploiting.

　　That is very true. We must also remember that during the 19th century, the U.S was the greatest perpetrator of technological theft/industrial espionage in the entire world. And c**idering that China is now in the top 3 in terms of annual technology patents when 20 years ago, it wasn’t in the top 50, this is alarming news.
