PC-BSD is a free operating system with ease of use in mind. Like any modern system, you can listen to your favorite music, watch your movies, work with office documents and install your favorite applications with a setup wizard at a click. Release: PBI Builder 2.3

Version 2.3 of the PBI Builder software has been released for FreeBSD 7.x / PC-BSD 7.x. This update adds functionality to specify the version of FreeBSD you wish a target port to be compiled under. Also updated is the PBI Auto-Populate feature, which copies port files into the respective PBI automatically. For more details please refer to the changelog and wiki.

  PC-BSD 7.1.1 Released

The PC-BSD Team is pleased to announce the immediate availability of PC-BSD 7.1.1

Version 7.1.1 contains a number of bugfixes and improvements from PC-BSD 7.1, including KDE 4.2.4, improvements to printing support, Xorg Server 1.6.1, and much more. 


For a full list of changes, please refer to the changelog. Users who wish to upgrade from PC-BSD 7.0.x / 7.1 are able to do so via the upgrade / repair option during the installation.

 

Version 7.1.1 of PC-BSD for i386 and amd64 based platforms is available for download from our mirrors, for purchase from The FreeBSD Mall, as well as via torrent from www.gotbsd.net.

Version 2.2 of the PBI Builder software has been released! This version greatly improves the reliability of building PBI files from a target application in the FreeBSD ports tree. This version has also been made easier to perform the initial setup, and port updating has been improved by using portsnap automatically.

  Thin Client Server Update
Version 0.9.1 of the PC-BSD Thin Client Server is now available for download!

This PBI package allows you to turn any PC-BSD 7.x system into a functional Thin Client Server, which allows network booting by clients and brings them directly to a XDMCP / KDM login prompt.


Version 0.9.1 enhancements:

  - New client menu with a variety of configuration options
  - Use failsafe 1024x768 Xorg config
  - Auto-detect Xorg configuration
  - Preview / Test Xorg configuration
  - Save working Xorg configuration to server
