萨顿胡(发现地及时间:英格兰萨福克郡,最初发掘于17世纪) 萨顿胡是七世纪皇家墓地。1939年,考古发掘显示这个墓是一条盎格鲁—撒克逊时期的快速战船,长27米,宽4.2米,中间为墓室。墓内装有很多珠宝,据推断它们属于英格兰最早的一位国王东英吉利国王雷德沃尔德。墓地的酸性土壤意味着只有铆钉和船的形状尚可存在,此外还有一些迹象显示那里曾经躺过墓室的主人。

Selket is the goddess of healing stings and bites. The statuette is made of gilded wood and it's eyes and eyebrows are painted black. Selket turns her head slightly to the side to ward off danger and thus breaks away from the traditional frontal pose of royal statuary. Her costume is that of contemporary queens, and the Amarna influence is still evident in the modelling of the body and the features of the face.

This sphinx has features of the monarch: the feline eyes, the arched nose, the full cheeks and delicate mouth. He wears a striped nemes headdress. The hybrid alliance between man and lion is artistically successful even though the lion's body has prominent musculature and stylized ribs.

Name CORSELET OF TUTANKHAMON Category ACCESSORY King Name TUT-ANKH-AMUN Date New Kingdom , 18th Dynasty Material Gold, Glass, Carnelian, Ivory Floor upper Room 9 JE 62627 Description A magnificent piece of jewellery, this corselet with collar, is an element of both royal and divine state costume. A sensitivity to colour, design and technique is quite apparent in the whole conception of the corselet. It consists of an assemblage of numerous pieces, all individually worked in whether by cloisonn? or inlays of glass paste and semi-precious stones or metalwork. The body of the corselet is made of two rectangular patterns of stylized feathers, while the frontal collar has an open pectoral depicting Tutankhamon standing beneath the sun disk to receive various signs from Amon-Re. The rear collar has a trapezoidal frame enclosing the sun disk, scarab, two uraei and several ankhs. Tassels of polychrome beads hang from the trapezoid, terminating in pendants in shape of papyrus umbels and fleur-de-lis.

The funerary ensemble enclosing Maakare's mummy was found at Deir el-Bahari. The exterior coffin, whose lid is shown here, is the most elaborate part. The body of the coffin is decorated with intricate scenes of gods and goddesses protecting the " Ba " of the deceased. This proliferation of images compensates for the extensive funerary programs that was once represented on tomb walls and the repertoire of funerary equipment
