通常是用and, but或or連接。

black and blue:

指身體上的青腫,或黑青傷痕(become bruises in one's body; bruised badly)

例如:

After a fight, the man was black and blue in his face.

The boy fell from the tree and became black and blue all over his body.

It would be unlawful in the U.S. for a parent to beat a child black and blue.

cut and dried:

(already decided; in an ordinary or routine manner)

例如:

The proposal is not cut and dried; you may add some new ideas.

Mr. A told me about the car accident in a cut-and-dried manner.

There is no way to change this plan; it is already cut and dried.

dead and gone:

不再使用或早已忘記(no longer in use; long forgotten)

= dead and buried.

例如:

The historical hatred between China and Taiwan should be dead and gone.

His argument with his wife has already been dead and buried.

We should try to be open-minded and let all these unpleasant experiences be dead and gone.

fair and square:

是指公正而誠懇 (be just and honest)

例如:

All business deals should be done in a fair and square manner.

The cost for the repair has to be split fair and square.

A person with a fair and square personality will be respected.

fine and dandy:

(excellent; all right)

What you have proposed to our boss is fine and dandy with me.

Having been fine and dandy, Mr. A feels a little weak lately.

This fine and dandy, state-of-the-art equipment has made more convenient for every one of us.

hale and hearty:

At 92, Dr. A was still hale and hearty enough to marry a 29-year-old woman.

After surgery, Ed recovered gradually and became hale and hearty again.
